Senator Mike Sonko has said he is frustrated that some of his supporters were not allowed to cast their votes.

This was as Jubilee primaries kicked off in Nairobi on Wednesday amid claims of names missing in the party registers.

The party using both its register and the one IEBC used in the 2013 general elections.

"I do not understand why some of

my supporters have not been allowed to cast their votes," Sonko said.

He told journalists at Bahati polling station that those whose names started with 'O' were missing in the registers.

"I have communicated to the party

officials over the omitted names."

Sonko is eying the Jubilee ticket and is facing off with former MPs Peter Kenneth (Gatanga) and

Margaret Wanjiru (Starehe).

The senator wants to use the ticket in the race against incumbent Evans Kidero of ODM during the August 8 poll.

He asked his supporters to be calm adding that the mess will be taken care of.

Read:

"We hope for the best because this is not the end of the journey. I ask my supporters to remain calm as we sort out the situation," he said.

He said the issue with the registers was concluded by the party hence wondered why the mishaps were being reported.

Earlier an MCA aspirant claimed that the party deliberately omitted some names.

The party last week

said its is only using the 2013 register to confirm names of individuals.

Details also emerged that new voters’ names were missing from the registers.

It is these rolls that the party used to print and dispatch ballot papers.

According to some aspirants, the party ignored the list generated from the recent mass voter registration drive.

Those who transferred their polling stations during the mass voter listing were referred back to their old stations.
