FIFTY six corruption cases were reported at City Hall this year and those responsible charged.

Yesterday, Governor Evans Kidero released a status report on all the corruption cases at City Hall.

The report from the EACC lists officers at City Hall who have been arrested and charged.

Kidero wrote to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to take action.

Top on the list is Environment executive Evans Ondieki’s personal assistant Gerald Nyauma.

He is accused of soliciting a Sh800,000 bribe to allocate a matatu sacco a loading zone.

Dennis Taalam, a medical officer, was accused of soliciting a Sh20,000 bribe at Industrial Area.

Alfred Amani allegedly presented himself as a county officer.

The report includes the 17 parking attendants who were nabbed with Sh280,000, which they could not account for.

John Kiprotich and Ismail Chebet were accused of impersonating county officers and extorting from the public.

A good number of the officers caught were from the City Inspectorate Department.
