Coast province KCPE top girl and fourth best girl nationally Adhiambo Belinda Melisa could fail to live to her dream due to lack of school fees. The girl, who aspires to become an Electric Engineer, scored 437 marks and hopes to attend a good national school but there are fears of slim chances to achieve her goal if someone does not come to her rescue.
Speaking to Star, her guardian and Aunt Karen Osuna expressed fears of not being able to cater for Belinda’s education on forth. She said being a widow she has been solely struggling to provide for Belinda and her two children but has exhausted her resources. She said Belinda's primary school fees was being paid by the school director who came to their rescue after realizing the girl’s potential and the fees problem facing her. “Her primary school education was sponsored by the MD Mary joy primary school, Belinda is my niece, I am a widow with other two children in high school and another in class eight, am afraid I won’t afford school fees for the three, things are tough at the moment” said Osuna.
She is now calling for well wishers to come to her rescue to help the young girl achieve her dream. “Belinda is a much focused hard working girl, we need help to assist her attain her goal of becoming an engineer “said Karen. The girl has so far received a personal accident cover from Al Wataniya insurance agency in Mombasa. The insurance company director Naima Badhawi however questioned the poor performance by schools at the coast and called for a quick solution.
