President William Ruto on Sunday launched the Uriri Technical and Vocational College Konza Digital Skill Laboratory in Migori.

Ruto opened the lab after attending a church service at Uriri Technical Training Institute.

He was accompanied by ICT and Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo, whose Ministry is tasked with rolling out the digital labs.

The institutions are under the government's Jitume digital laboratory initiative.

The primary objective of the labs is to train a youthful public workforce that initiates efficient and effective service delivery in different disciplines online.

Kenya Kwanza government is banking on enhancing skills among the youth through the new technology to enable them to access the digital job market.

Further, the State will use the ICT hubs to promote e-commerce and government services.
