Covid positivity rate at 0.2% after 4 new cases

14 patients have recovered from the disease, all of them from the Home-Based Isolation and Care.

From a sample size of 2,488 tested in the last 24 hours, Kenya has recorded four new Covid-19 cases.

The positivity rate is now at 0.2%.

In a statement, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said three of the new cases are Kenyans while one is a foreigner, with two being males while two are females.

The youngest is a 38-year-old while the oldest is 65 years old.

This brings the total confirmed positive cases to 323,454 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,527,127.

Kagwe said 14 patients have recovered from the disease, all of them from the Home-Based Isolation and Care.

This pushes the total recoveries to 317,685 of whom 264,670 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,015 are from various health facilities countrywide.

The cumulative fatalities remain at 5,648 as no death has been reported in the last 24 hours.

A total of 12 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 109 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program. No patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Two patients are on supplemental oxygen and all of them are in the general wards. No patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

As of April 2, a total of 17,665,765 vaccines have been administered across the country.

Of these, 16,158,450 are doses administered to the adult population (18 years and above).

Another 1,225,559 are doses administered to those between 15to 17 years while 281,756 are booster doses.

The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 2,363 while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the last 24 hours is 1,716.

Proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 29.9%.
