Tennis Kenya have added four more athletes to the Team Kenya list for the women's World Tennis Tour tournament slated for November 15 at the Karen Country Club.

The players include Mary Wachira, Katarina Karanja, Monica Kahura and Claire Muthoni.

The quartet will join Wimbledon Junior doubles champion Angela Okutoyi, sibling Rosehilda Asumwa and Cynthia Wanjala in a formidable Kenyan team for the two weeks long championships

TK administrator, Nancy Nduku said the quartet has been training for the past month and will be targeting to go on a good run during the tournament. 

“We have had mixed fortunes this year in the various tournaments across the globe but playing at home gives us a good opportunity to play in front of our fans and do the country proud,” added Nduku. 

The Kenyan quartet will face a stern test from the international players who are coming for the tournament.

Austria's Tamara Kostic, who is ranked 96th is one of the players tipped to do well during the Karen show. She is the highest-ranked player among the foreigners gracing the tournament. However, Okutoyi is the higher-ranked player in the tournament at position 56, according to the latest list. 

Others are Germans Luisa Meyer Auf Der Heide ranked 392, Emily Seibold (518), Jasmin Jebawy (587) and Chantal Sauvant (602). Also eyeing the top prize will be Indian Sowjanya Bavisetti (512) and Serbian Tamara Curovic (576).

Moroccan duo Aya El Aouni and Mannaal Ennaciri and Celine Simunyu of Ireland are also expected for the championship alongside Tanzania's Esther Mohamed and Rwanda's Sonia Shimmery.
