The girls' team, who are the defending champions in their category got off to a good start, beating Uganda 3-0. Nancy Kawira beat Olivier Natukunda 6-0 6-0 as Seline Ahoya dispatched Dahanvi Dechaumma by a similar scoreline.
In the doubles category, Kawira and Ahoya teamed up to defeat Olivier Natukunda and Clair Nalubula 6-2 6-3.

Ainsley Elavuna lost to Rajab Muzamil 6-0 6-1 while Jeff Okuku lost to Ambrose Byravungha 6-3 6-3. In the doubles, Ayan Quadross and Okuku beat Samuel Okello and Byravungha 6-3 7-5.
In the match against Tanzania Kenya won 2-1 with Quadros edging Hamis Kashind 6-2 6-1 as Jeff Okuku defeated Freddy Ongige 6-3 6-0.
Team captain Rosemary Osogo said she is confident the two sides will win their respective final matches and clinch the overall titles.
"So far so good. The two teams are looking sharp and all we need to do is to build on those performances going into the final two days of competition," said Osogo, adding that both teams have adjusted well to the surface in Kigali.
