Nakuru were at one point leading 17-10 early in the second half but the second half introduction of Fijian Jone Kubu, lock Charlton Mokua and utility back Johnstone Mungau turned the tide for the sugar milers, who earned a bonus point victory at the Nakuru Athletic club.
The win sees Kabras stay top with 64 points, same as champions KCB, who also bagged a bonus point win — 27-20 — win over Mwamba.
"Nakuru really tested us. They played well in the first half and we tweaked a few things in the second and we were eventually able to get over the line," said Du Plessis.
