Great Rift Valley's  professional golfer Justus Madoya is targeting to make a cut for next year's Magical Kenya Open Golf Championship at Karen club.

Madoya, who is set to start his journey in the Safari Tour Series at the Sigona leg starting this Saturday to 29, said it has been a long wait and he is anxious to swing into action.

"It's been six months since we hosted the last professional golfers’ event hence I can't wait for action to start," he added.

Speaking after playing at the NCBA Golf Series at his club over the weekend, Madoya said the tournament was part of his build up towards the Sigona event.

“This is part of my training ahead of Safari Tour opener in Sigona and I am ready. NCBA Golf Series is the biggest I have played this year and I must say it was a good challenge for pro golfers,” he said.

He said he has been training throughout the week and was raring to go for the Safari Tour.

“I train six days a week on this course and this has kept me fit. I know all the angles to this course and heading into the Safari Tour, such knowledge will be of great help,” said Madoya.

He said there has been no tournament for the last six months for professional golfers in the country following the conclusion of the Kenya Open in March.

“I am the only professional golfer in this club but Simon Njogu will be joining me soon after turning pro this month. He is expected to debut at the Sigona meeting next week,” said Madoya.

Madoya will be up against series champion Dismas Indiza, Rizwan Charana, Erick Ooko and John Wangai among others .
