Ulinzi Starlets coach Joseph Mwanza believes game management and tactical discipline will be key in the soldiers' ambition of retaining the Football Kenya Federation Women's Cup title this weekend.

Defending champions of the Cup, Ulinzi, lock horns with Nakuru City Queens at the Nyayo Stadium.

The soldiers won the inaugural competition in 2021 and face a litmus test according to Mwanza who said they won't underrate their opponents.

"For us to cruise to victory, we have to manage the game well and execute a tactical awareness about our opponents," Mwanza said.

"Nakuru is a good team, they also have had a good season in the league but this being a one-off match, we will take them head-on and attack from the first whistle," he added.

The soldiers eliminated Kisumu All-Starlets in the semifinals after cruising to a 3-0 victory. Nakuru on the other hand edged out Kibera Soccer Ladies 3-2.

Ulinzi are yet to concede a goal in the competition so far. Mwanza said that has been made possible because of teamwork.

"The players have shouldered the defensive burden and played for each other. That's why it's hard to break us down. We won't burden ourselves with expectations, we know what we want so the players will express themselves freely and let's see what happens."
