Migori Youth recorded their fourth win on the trot on Wednesday after edging Vihiga United 3-0 in a mid-week National Super League game played at Migori stadium.

Kevin Agai scored a brace for the hosts as Lucky Musyoki added the third goal in the game which the hosts dominated. Coach Wilson Omondi feels they would have scored more goals.

“We dominated the entire game and we would have won by a bigger margin but I’m satisfied with the three goals scored today. It’s our fourth win in a row,” said Omondi.

He attributed the team’s good run to the arrival of Musyoki from Sofapaka. “He has been instrumental since he joined us. He has inspired and motivated the team,” noted Omondi.

He added: “Following the win, we move to fourth on the log and I think we have peaked at the right time. We can challenge for promotion to the Kenya Premier League,” Migori Youth is fourth on the log with 27 points from 16 games. The tactician said they also signed Yusuf Omondi from Fortune Sacco. “We have also promoted some young players from our youth team,” he said.

At St Sebastian Park, Murang’a Seal were awarded a walkover after Kisumu All Stars failed to travel for the game.

Consequently, Murang’a Seal were awarded three points and two goals. They moved to second place with 29 points, six behind log leaders Shabana. Mara Sugar dropped to third on the log with 27 points.

“We were ready for the game. It’s unfortunate that Kisumu All Stars failed to show up. However, it’s three points in the bag and we focus on our next game,” said Nyaberi.

He added: “We set a target of 30 points in the first leg but we missed our target by a point because we were docked three points for allegedly   abandoning the game against Shabana.”

Kisumu All Stars will be docked three points for dishing out a walkover which is a blow to their promotion hopes
