Mango eyes promotion after signing 2-year deal with Romania side

Vihiga Queens' marauding left back Enez Mango is targeting promotion to Liga 1 Feminin after finally signing a two-year deal with Romania's second-tier side Farul Constanta.

The enterprising defender has the option of extending the deal for one more year after impressing during the trials that have lasted more than a month.

Farul are unbeaten in six matches and sit second on the log with 18 points having scored 61 goals before last night's match against Liceeni Topolog. Topolog lead with the same number of points but boast of a superior goal difference.

"I am really happy that my future is now sorted.  The team is in a good position and in imperious form and the next step is to ensure we dine with the big girls in the top tier next season," Mango who captained Vihiga to four Kenya Women's Premier League titles stated.

"Romania is a nice place with friendly people. The people here value women's football just like Kenyans adore the English Premier League. I want to enjoy my time here. I hope I will be able to give more assists and chip in with some goals."

"Vihiga Queens will forever remain in my heart. Winning three consecutive league titles is no mean feat. Participating in the continental club premier competition is an unforgettable experience. A big thank you to all the coaches who groomed me to be the player I am today."

She tipped the county-sponsored side to successfully defend their title amidst the ongoing transition after the exit of six title-winning players all of them on  professional stints overseas.
