Defending champions, Thika Queens, bounced back from their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Ulinzi Starlets last weekend to thump tail-enders Kangemi Ladies 4-0 at Thika Stadium on Saturday.

Wincate Kaari, Rebecca Akinyi, Stella Anyango and Lydia Waganda were all on target in the one-sided Kenya Women's Premier League encounter.

The Benta Achieng-coached team have had a campaign marred by inconsistency and a blunt attack. Other than falling to Ulinzi, they also crashed 1-0 to Bunyore Starlets early this month.

Kangemi on the other hand are still looking for their first points of the season. They are bottom of the 12-team league and likely candidates for relegation.

Kangemi face a baptism of fire in their match against a high-scoring Vihiga Queens side at Mumias Sports Complex.

Elsewhere, Bunyore Starlets made light work of Kayole Starlets, maximizing the home advantage to cruise to a 4-0 win.

A brace from Susan Martha enabled the Daniel Arunga-tutored side to gain control of the match before further goals from Shalyn Onjote and Priscah Ambale proved to be the final nail in Kayole's coffin.

Bunyore have only lost once at home in four matches (against Trans-Nzoia) and have made Mumboha grounds a fortress.

They take on Gaspo in their next assignment at the same venue and the giant-killing Bunyore will have to be at their lethal best to bag maximum points.

"The girls wanted victory at all costs and I am happy we took our chances. Up next is Gaspo and we have a plan in place to end their good run," Arunga said.

Commenting on Onjote he said: "She's a key member of the team and was instrumental in our promotion journey. Her speed is vital because the wings are our strength. She's an asset and motivates everyone in training and during matches."
