Despite not having secured a single win in the ongoing Kenya Premier League, Vihiga Bullets are still confident of maintaining their position in the top-tier.

After securing a point in their 1-1 draw against AFC Leopards match at Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday, Bullets coach Abdalla Juma acknowledges that his boys still have a long way to go, but believes their dark days will soon be over.

Bullets, who were recently elevated to the top tier league, have so far managed only two draws and are yet to register a single win in their nine games played so far.

Speaking to the press from Kakamega town after the match against Ingwe, Juma said they have many new faces still trying to settle down and things have been hard for them in the opening matches.

“As you can see, the majority of these players are still new and lack the much-needed experience at the top level. However, I will try to use my experience and help turn things around.

"It has been very tough for the club and I understand the frustrations and sufferings of the fans. However, we're here to make things better for the club.

"We managed to secure a point against Leopards and we intend to build on this to boost the morale of players. I am looking forward to a maiden win in our next matches," pointed out Juma.

The former Western Stima coach also revealed that the club has already identified experienced players, who will soon join them in the next transfer window in a bid to bolster the team’s performance.

"We believe we need to rope in a couple of experienced players, who we have already identified although we will only avail the names after the deal in finalised," added Juma.

"One thing I know is that it's still very early to brand us relegation candidates. We are doing our best to evade this situation," he noted.

He also added that he was preparing his team for the match against Ulinzi, where he expects good performance.

Bullets are placed 18th position on the log from nine matches with only two points.
