Semi-final slots are at stake this weekend as the inaugural Football Kenya Federation women's cup quarter-finals go down across various venues.

Fresh from bagging the Cecafa Champions League slot last week, former national champions Vihiga Queens have an arduous task against Bunyore Starlets.

The Vihiga derby will be played on Sunday at Mumboha grounds with the regional champions eager to add another trophy to their cabinet.

Queens will rely on their razor-sharp attack led by teen sensation Jentrix Shikangwa, the Most Valuable Player in the regional qualifiers after scoring eight goals.

Shikangwa will be supported by Tereza Engesha, who managed five while Violet Wanyonyi injects pace to the Vihiga county-sponsored team.

Bunyore are not a walk in the park either. Confidence is at optimum for Zacharia Amakhang'a's side, who will debut in the women's Premier League in the coming season.

Bunyore won the Division One Zone 'B' league to book the automatic promotion to the top flight. Bunyore brushed aside top-tier opposition in this tournament and are now looking to make history against Vihiga.

At Mumias Complex, Wadadia will settle scores with Kisumu All Starlets, hoping that first choice shot-stopper Monica Odato will be fit enough to start. Odato returned to training from an ankle injury two weeks ago after a 10-week layoff.

A double-header will be witnessed at Stima Club on Sunday with Ulinzi, who finished second in Zone 'B' in their debut campaign last season, battling Zetech Sparks in the lunchtime kick-off.

Gaspo FC will look to put behind their disappointing season when they face off Kayole Starlets. The Gatundu-based team blew hot and cold, failing to replicate their 2019 heroics when they took the title fight to the wire.

With a fully-fit squad, Gaspo coach Ayub Inziani is banking on their thorough preparations to propel them to the semifinals.

"The team is in high spirits and the training has been good. The players are focused on winning the match," said Inziani.
