The top two Kenyan Premier League title contenders, Tusker and KCB, will be in action as Round 29 fixtures take shape this weekend across the country.

The sides are separated by a solitary point at the summit, with the brewers enjoying an upper hand with 55 points.

Tusker will hope to claim the scalp of a stubborn Nairobi City Stars side whom they host at Ruaraka Grounds on Friday.

The brewers head into the match with the title favourably in sight. City Stars have experienced a slump in their fortunes since the departure of coach Sanjin Alagic a fortnight ago.

They are currently ninth on the log with 38 points, but could ascend to sixth if they manage maximum points.

KCB, who have proven to be the biggest threat to Tusker's title hopes this season, will flex muscles with Posta Rangers at Thika Stadium on Friday. The bankers will look to seal a win against the mailmen while hoping against all odds that Tusker will stumble to clear their path to the apex of the log.

Ulinzi Stars take on Vihiga United at ASK Grounds in Nakuru. The soldiers head into the tie high on confidence following their win over champions Gor Mahia, perhaps their biggest of the season.

High-riding debutantes, Bidco United, host Western Stima at Thika Stadium on Friday. The coach Anthony Akhulia charges are 11th on the log with 35 points while Stima are third from bottom with 28.

Coastal darlings, Bandari, have a battle at hand against Nzoia Sugar at ASK Grounds. Bandari are currently seventh on the log and have a chance to move to fifth if they see off the millers.

On Saturday, bottom-placed Mathare United will look to amass enough points against Sofapaka in their eleventh-hour struggle to escape relegation. The Slum Boys are treading precariously at the tail-end of the log with 15 points from 26 matches.

On the other hand, Sofapaka, who have blown hot and cold this season are placed 26th with 30 points.

Kakamega Homeboyz have an engagement with Kariobangi Sharks at ASK Grounds on Saturday, the same day that champions Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards are scheduled to settle scores at Nyayo Stadium.
