Grass root based football clubs could be headed for yet another bumper harvest as BetLion have partnered with former Harambee Stars skipper Musa Otieno as their brand ambassador to distribute kit.

The firm aims to capitalise on the retired player’s wealth of experience and fame in football circles to award deserving local teams with training equipment in a campaign dubbed ‘BetLion Streets’

While announcing the partnership, the firm’s managing director, Spencer Okach, said they settled for the former Stars’ assistant coach courtesy of his record as a player on and off the pitch.

“We have always made a commitment to developing sport in our region of operation and the commencement of this ambitious program is a testament to that promise. We settled for Musa to lead this program as he embodies the characteristics anyone who wants to be a career sports person should emulate,” he said.

“I am excited to partner with BetLion on this program. It’s such programs with the objectives of not only developing one’s technical skill, but also interpersonal skills that creates the right mix for sportspersons,” said the former Santos’ centre half.
