Mathare United dropped two more points in the Kenyan Premier League as they were held to a goalless draw by Posta Rangers at the Kenyatta Stadium yesterday.

The Slum Boys maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign but that could not mask another missed opportunity as they sought to reignite their title fight.

"Obviously, we wanted to get a win and move further up the table but we could not get the breakthrough we needed against Posta, who defended well. The only positive we can take from the game is that we did not concede. Hopefully, we can now sharpen our attack and score more goals," said Mathare's experienced striker Clifford Alwanga.

The point saw Mathare remain stagnant at ninth with 11 points from seven matches. Posta are above them in eighth on goal difference, albeit having played a game more. Midfielder Joseph Mbugi was pleased with the point the mailmen earned amidst the barrage of attack from Mathare.

"It's always tough to get anything against Mathare and we had to show our strength of character to get a point. This continues a good sequence of results and I hope we continue like that," said the Posta skipper.

Rangers have drawn their last three outings and remain unbeaten in their last five.
