A win at any cost. I love watching beautiful football but I love the victory even more. The Gunners have had rare spells of beautiful football in recent weeks that has seen us become the team that has picked up the most points in the last ten games, but that’s just an added bonus.
The points are what matter most. I am even getting used to that sinking feeling in my stomach in the last ten minutes of every game when it looks like we will lose a game or give up a lead. Like against QPR on Wednesday. Once again we were holding our hearts in our mouths after Rangers got back one goal but we held on. As much as I’d prefer it if we killed games off early, the heart stopping moments are all part of being a Gunner. Jose Mourinho is the man of the moment right now.
Even though teams are closing in on him in the league, Chelsea are also getting away with winning ugly. Mourinho already has silverware tucked away in the Stamford Bridge cabinet in only his second season back in the league. Arsene Wenger, did you here that? Less than two years, and Mourinho has silverware already and is on the way to a league title as well.
Not nine years; just two; and he still has a good chance to progress in the Champions League. I am not blue blooded but I am a Mourinho fan. And finally; Kenyan Football. I’ve been avoiding the issue here because we are just going round in circles. I’m saddened that President Uhuru Kenyatta hasn’t given us a CS yet who cares. I’m saddened that the government still doesn’t take Sport seriously enough to give us our own ministry.
