Selection of Under-18 basketball teams set for Saturday

KBF secretary Ambrose Kisoi said the exercise will start at mid day at 209 State House Road before a residential camp set for June 3

The national U-18 boys and girls team for the FIBA Africa Zone Five championships in Kampala, Uganda will be selected Saturday.  

Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) secretary Ambrose Kisoi said the exercise will start at mid-day at 209 State House Road.

"We changed the venue because we needed two courts. Once selected, the teams will start residential camp on June 3, "Kisoi said.

Thus far, Kenya, Tanzania and hosts Uganda have confirmed participation for the June 13-18 Junior championships. 

At the same time, Kisoi said that the pre-season tournament 2022 edition will be held this weekend at two separate venues.

The men's matches will be played at University of Nairobi grounds with the women playing at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.

Elsewhere, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) start their two-week tour of Kigali, Rwanda where they have lined up a series of friendly matches.
