National champions Ulinzi Warriors got a huge boost after Joseph Khaemba announced he will be available for the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) play-off finals.

An excited team manager Stephen Bartilol yesterday revealed that  Khaemba's return to the team was timely.

"It is a boost for the team considering that our playmaker Eric Mutoro is suspended and will not play in the finals Game One."

The speedy guard who announced his departure from the national side Morans last Sunday confirmed he will continue playing club basketball.

"I announced my retirement from the national side after ten years of service. However, I will continue playing for club basketball only," he noted.

"To play for the national team, you must be mentally ready for that duty. I am happy I have played my part," he said.

Khaemba did not feature for Uinzi Warriors in their quarterfinals against Lakeside as well as the semis against Strathmore University.

The soldiers' opponent will be known after an Independent Disciplinary Committee make a decision on the Kenya Ports Authority versus Equity Bank semi-finals game.
