KPA rule in Nairobi with classic performance

Kenya Ports Authority torched Storms 79-43 in a Premier League clash at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium on Sunday.

The port women took a 15-7 and 14-6 advantage in the two opening quarters and never looked back. 

Led by the towering high school girl, Medina Okot, KPA trailed 18-17 in the third stanza before emphatically sailing away 33-12 in the decider.

Okot and teammate Hilda Indasi led the scorers tally with 13 points each. Cylia Atieno managed 10 for the losers.

On-form Okot started her powerful scoring on Saturday as she tallied 24 while Indasi added 17 as KPA torched Kenyatta University Oryx 103-37 on Saturday.

KPA tactician Anthony Ojukwu said: "I am happy with my team's progress. The chemistry is coming as we continue to work on our weaknesses."

KU Oryx recovered from that loss to beat Africa Nazarene University (ANU) 49-44 after trailing 21-17 at the breather.

The winners took over the proceedings after the break with a 17-13  cushion in the third quarter and 15-11 in the last to carry the day. Liz Abayo and Sylvia Chacha dropped in 10 points apiece for KU while Saliamo Atieno notched 13 for the losers.

Neosasa Morans defeated Mustangs 60-55 in a lower division match.

In other matches, Equity Bank blanked thunder 72-44 while KPA humbled KU Pirates 83-55. Zetech University Sparks thrashed Eagle Wings 78-28 and UoN Dynamites pipped Africa Nazarene University 50-49.
