Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala recorded a new world lead of 9.78s to win the Botswana Continental Gold Tour meeting in Gaborone on Saturday.

The sprint sensation beat a star-studded field comprised of local teenage Letsile Tebogo who crossed the finish in 9.91  to finish second.

USA’s Olympic and world 200m medallist Kenny Bednarek clocked 10.02 to close the podium.
