Former Imenti 21km race champion starts favorite in this Sunday's Koitalel Nandi Half Marathon.

Fresh from making his international debut at the Barcelona Marathon, Bor is happy to compete at his home ground, where he has dominated in many races.

“I have run many races this season and I want to win this race in my home county. I have posted good results here and one more in my county will enable me to end the year on a high,” he added.

The road running specialist finished 21st in the Iten 10km End Gender-Based Violence (GBV) road race. He, however, said that was part of his training ahead of this Sunday’s race in Kapsabet, Nandi.

“My preparations are on course and I will give the event my best shot. I, however, do not want to be complacent because other athletes have also been training hard. Nandi is a source of champions and anything can happen,” said Bor.

Bor has competed in a number of local and international races, where he has posted mixed results.

“I have to run in all these races because athletics is my life. I don’t have any other job apart from small-scale farming back home,” he said.

At the Eldoret City Marathon last June, he finished 3rd in 2:11.10 behind champion Victor Kipchirchir (2:08.56) and Leonard Lagat (2:10.49).

He went ahead to finish 17th at the Barcelona Marathon in 2:1321 last month and was 10th at the Nakuru City Half Marathon 10 days ago.

Back home, he won the Re-Discover Nandi twice (2021 and 2019) and ' 'Run For Life against Rabbis' among others. He also won the Late Samuel Wanjiru Memorial Half Marathon.
