READY TO MOVE ON

After missing out on the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, 2019 World Championships 5,000m finalist Jacob Krop is hoping to redeem himself by making Team Kenya to the World Cross, World Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Krop, who sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in April, said the O-Level tests denied him enough time to train for the Tokyo Games but is now ready to engage a high gear in search of a fruitful career in athletics.

“I wanted to do well in my KCSE examinations, which meant less time in training since I had to focus most on class work. At the end of it, I got a C-,” said Krop.

“My target now is to prepare for World Cross Country, World Championships and Commonwealth Games. I felt bad after missing the Olympics but I had to accept the results,” added Krop, who is preparing to compete at the Lausanne Diamond League later this month.
