Rift Valley Sports Academy head coach Daniel Magero says his charges are ready to finish the job as they prepare to take on the All Blacks in their final home match of the season on Sunday at the Nakeel Stadium in Ongata Rongai.

Boasting a four-point cushion at the summit of the Football Kenya Federation County League table, RVSA need just a win to seal promotion to Division Two, but Magero insists nothing is guaranteed until the final whistle.

“We know we are almost there, but we need to get the three points to be assured,” said Magero.

His side has amassed 63 points from 28 matches, four ahead of second-placed Jamhuri, who are on 59 from the same number of games.

“We have trained hard and the boys know what is expected from them.”

Led by influential trio Alim Tiote, Bedan Amunabi and Nicholas Wambua, RVSA will be banking on home support and their solid form to edge past the mid-table All Blacks, who sit tenth with 37 points.

Magero lauded the strong support the club has received from the community, pointing out that former players like Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada continue to inspire the current squad.

“These players and the team have enjoyed great support from the fans and (Richard) Odada who is in constant communication with the team,” he said.

Founded in 2007 by Sir Philip to nurture talent in Kware, Ongata Rongai, the academy has produced top players such as Odada and Under-20 international Fabian Sheldon Onyango.

Several others now ply their trade in the National Super League.

The club, which has also helped steer local youth away from drugs and crime through football, remains committed to shaping the next generation of stars, with Magero confident the best is yet to come.

“In the years to come, we will be producing more players for the national team,” he added.
