Kenya's Highway Secondary School has been placed in Group 'H' for the boys Football World School Championship 2023 scheduled for July 22-31 in Rabat, Morocco.
Highway will face off with schools from Bulgaria, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia according to a draw released by International School Sport Federation (ISF) on June 1.
Highway-tutored by former Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba- qualified for the global showpiece after reaching the final of the 2022 Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSSA) games in Arusha, Tanzania.
They finished as runners-up after a 2-0 defeat to Uganda's Kibuli Secondary School.
The East African champions, Kibuli, will face schools from China, Ivory Coast and Qatar in group 'E'.
Kibuli will be joined by compatriot Amus College-invited to the tournament- who were placed in Group 'A' and will face teams from China, France and Nepal.
For the girls category, East African region will be represented by Uganda's St. Noa Girls who were placed in group 'D'. The reigning East African Girl's football champions will battle against teams from Chile, England and Morocco.
St. Noa emerged winners after overcoming Kenyan opposition Wiyeta Girls 2-1 in the final to lift the gong.
Other African countries that will be participating include the host Morocco, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea and Nigeria.
