Trailblazers opposite player Moses Sialo has said his intention is to remain with the Ruaraka-based side even though he might consider offers from abroad.

The towering attacker had inked a year-long deal with Iraqi volleyball side Erbil Club in Iraq November last year.

However, the deal with the Western Asia nation was cut short in March owing to financial challenges and a knee injury that hampered the hard-hitting attacker from helping the team lift the title.

Sialo 28, who broke his silence for the first time since the ill-fated move was brought to an abrupt end said: "Generally I achieved what I wanted despite the tough-to-coupe with challenges. The exposure was great and learning a new culture was a bonus".

"Trailblazers is home. It is the team that gave me a second chance to showcase my skills in volleyball and will always be grateful to the management.

Affirming his commitment to the club, he added: "I want to stay here (Trailblazers) as long as possible. Will only consider moving out of the country when the right offer will be put on the table".

The soft-spoken player helped Erbil reach the playoffs for the first time in their history. Sialo played through pain after suffering a knee injury and financial challenges made his stay in Iraq impossible.

"The club ran out of funds. They even failed to treat my knee injury that's why I had to return home early because the situation was worsening with each passing day".

Sialo said the Iraq league is competitive because of the many foreign-based players. " The competition is cut-throat because of the investment on foreign players. I enjoyed my time on the court and in training".

The former Equity bank player hopes to return quickly from the injury saying:" I am still recuperating  but I am not far away from returning.  I can't wait to be back and putting the hard yards behind the scene"

Sailo previously turned out for Rwanda Energy and also had a short stint in the Japanese top tier league featuring for Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adle.
