Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's final series will now start in Mombasa on April 16.

This new development has been released by KBF secretary Ambrose Kisoi following an executive meeting.

Initially, it was meant to tip-off this weekend."In consideration of a request by the Ulinzi team, which has internal sporting activities towards the official commissioning of their Sports Complex in Lang’ata, the finals series could not start as anticipated," said Kisoi.

He said Kenya Port's Authority (KPA) will host reigning champions Ulinzi Warriors in Game One and Game Two at their Makande Welfare Hall.

The best of the five-game series will then move to Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi for Games Three, Four and Five, if need be, on April 23, 24 and 25.

The men's final was delayed following protests lodged by both Equity Bank and KPA teams in the semi-finals decisive Game Five in Mombasa.

The matter was then referred to an Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC) who deliberated over the matter and awarded the game to KPA.

The premier league women's championship was won by KPA who dethroned Equity Bank 3-1 in the finals.

Zetech University Titans, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and Eldonets were also crowned lower division champions.
