Kenya women's beach volleyball team won a bronze as their men counterparts placed fourth in the African Commonwealth Games qualifiers in Accra, Ghana. 

The pair of Naomi Too and Veronica Adhiambo beat Rwanda 2-0 in sets of 23-21 and 21-19 to finish third. 

Kenya lost to Ghana 2-1 (18-21, 21-19, 9-15) in the semi-final. The Salome Wanjala tutored side had beaten Nigeria 2-0 in quarters before the last four setback. 

The women's team was in Group 'B' alongside Rwanda, South Africa, and Mauritius. They won all their group matches, edging Mauritius 2-1 (22-24, 21-13, 15-10), South Africa 2-0 (21-16, 21-1), and Rwanda 2-1 (17-21, 21-18,15-13)

Ironically, Olympians and Kenya's best players Brackxides Agala and Gaudencia Makokha were sidelined throughout the tournament despite being present in Ghana.

In the men's category, the pair of Ibrahim Oduor and James Mwaniki were beaten by Ghana for third place. They fell to South Africa in the semis but beat Nigeria in quarters. Kenya won one match in the group stage against Zambia but lost to South Africa and Gambia.
