KDF, Strathmore set for mouth-watering KHF Super Cup semi

Kenya Defence Forces will meet Strathmore University in a mouth-watering Kenya Handball Federation Super Cup semi-final on Sunday.

The soldiers scrapped through with a 28-28 draw against Black Mamba at Nyayo National Stadium. The losers trailed 14-9 at half time.

The other semi-final will see GSU take on National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB). The matches start at mid day.

GSU pipped Kenyatta University Wizards 33-32 in a closely fought after both sides had tied 19-19 at the break.

KDF finished second in Pool 'A', won by NCPB while Strathmore topped Pool 'B' with GSU second.

Noah Cheruiyot scored five goals while Gideon Kiprotich and Billycliff Wanjala netted four each for KDF. Martin Nguli hit six and Paul Ondara added four for the losers.

Christopher Keter burried 11 goals and Ibesen Mmaba had six for GSU while KU had 11 from Morgan Simiyu and eight from Bethuel Kiprop.

In the women's division, Nanyuki suffered a 23-20 loss at the hands of NCPB, who had Sarah Mabonga and Sleru Atieno as the top scorers with seven and five goals respectively.

Also on Sunday, two epic women's match ups will see NCPB up against KDF, who also have a date with champions Nairobi Water Queens.
