Tusker head coach Robert Matano has challenged his charges to draw from the spirit and determination they showed in their brief  Caf Confederation Cup sojourn for the rest of the season.

Coach Matano said he was impressed with the attitude and mentality of his players and demanded more of the same if the brewers are to defend their FKF Premier League title.

“We played good football and we performed like champions and I was really impressed with the performance,” he said.

“This was one of the most superb matches I have seen since I joined Tusker. I saw maturity and composure, and we were well-organized in both attack and defence,” said Matano on the brewers' official portal.

The brewers were held to a goalless draw by Sofapaka over the weekend but the multiple league title-winning tactician remained confident of retaining their crown.

“We are going to defend our title and we will be back into the league with our heads held high and with a lit of confidence,” added the tactician.

Having played six matches, Tusker finds themselves in an unfamiliar position 7 in the18-team league. They have however played three games less than most of their opponents.
