Kenya basket Federation (KBF) national league matches resume next week at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium, according to competitions  secretary Joseph Amoko.

Amoko confirmed that all has been put in place and the games will be moved back to the Nairobi West venue.

“We will be playing at the University of Nairobi courts this weekend for the last time before moving back to Nyayo from next weekend.,” he added.

UoN ground has hosted all the premier and lower division league matches in the city since action resumed in June after the  resumption of the sporting activities.

Strathmore University Swords coach Ronny Owino welcomed the move, saying playing premier league games outdoors has been an impediment to the progress of the games.

“You can’t make much progress playing basketball at a venue without a clock. Moving back to Nyayo will be good,” he noted.

National league champions Ulinzi Warriors who have lost only one match will take on Strathmore University Blades in  top fixtures of the day. Women champions Equity Bank have a date with Eagle Wings while the bankers men’s side play the self-supporting Umoja in the other premier league show.

Meanwhile, this weekend will see an all-varsity clash as UON Terrorists host fierce rivals Kenyatta University Pirates at their back yard.

Former women champions Eagle Wings meet Africa Nazarene University while Lakeside welcome Umoja at the lake-side town of Kisumu.

On Sunday, Equity Bank play Strathmore University, Eagle Wings meet UON Dynamites before Terrorists close the week against Strathmore Blades.
