Strathmore Leos, Ochieng Ahaya's Masinde Murilo University of Science and Technology (MMUST) have already sealed home semi-finals while Mean Machine has clinched a home quarter-final berth. Fourth-placed USIU Martials are seeking a home quarter-final.

Two teams from the second tier league will join Kenya Cup to replace relegated Kisumu and Western Bulls.

Fourth-placed USIU Martials, under the tutelage of coach Tom Lagat, have a tricky fixture against Egerton Wasps at Njoro in Nakuru County. Martials have 37 points while Egerton Wasps are sixth with 31 points.

Lagat predicted a tough game but said his charges are ready.

“We are travelling there for a win of any kind. I know Egerton is also in contention for a playoff place so it will not be easy but they will be under pressure,” said Lagat.

Debutants Northern Suburbs Cubs also have a chance of making it to the quarter-finals if they beat Catholic Monks at the Catholic University of East Africa grounds in Langata.

A loss could see Monks join Kisii in relegation depending on the other results. South Coast Pirates are also in contention for a quarter-final place. They host unbeaten Strathmore Leos at St Joseph's Primary School in Ukunda.

The focus will also be on which team will be relegated. University of Eldoret's Trojans, debutants Eldoret RFC, Mombasa RFC and Monks are in the relegation mix. Eldoret and Trojans are tied on 25 points while Monks have 23 points and Mombasa 22.

Already relegated Kisii have nine points. Trojans will be at home against MMUST, whose only loss of the season was against Leos. MMUST remain unbeaten away from home this season.

Eldoret travels to Kisii for a face-off against Kisii at Gusii Stadium. “We want to sign off from KRU Championship on a winning note. We shall be back,” said Kisii coach Eric Bosire.

Mombasa hosts Mean Machine at the Mombasa Sports Club.
