Strathmore University men's handball team will look to climb to the top of the table in the Kenya Handball Federation standings when they take on University of Eldoret Pippers and Rangers this weekend.

The students are third and remain unbeaten with 18 points from nine matches. Confidence is high in the students' camp following another 16-14 hard-fought victory over Kenyatta University last weekend. 

Sixth-placed Rangers are yet to lose after six encounters but Pippers have played three more games than Strathmore to rank ninth.

Victory for the students will enable them to tie on 22 points with current leaders Black Mamba, who will not be in action.

Rangers will also play Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, St. Paul's University and General Sevice Unit GSU. GSU will hope to redeem themselves after heavy defeats to Generation and National Youth Service.

Pippers battle St. Paul's and Kenyatta University, who lost against 23-29 to Buccaneers last weekend. KU has a date with the University of Nairobi, who also tackle GSU. JKUAT confront Mount Kenya University, Thika.

Super Cup winners Nairobi Water Queens will look to extend their good run when they play KU in the only women's fixture. KU lost 21-35 to National Cereals and Produce Board NCPB. League leaders Nairobi Water have 10 points as KU has two in as many matches to rank fifth in the eight-team league.
