The trio of defending champion Hellen Obiri, Margaret Chelimo and Lilian Kasait have qualified to the World Athletics Championships 5000m finals at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
Obiri who had contemplated withdrawing from the race after falling in the 1000m finals won heat one to sail to the finals alongside Lilian Kasait and Margaret Chelimo who were in heat two.
Chelimo finished third timing 3:00.31, similar to that of Konstanze Klostrrhlfen of Germany and Ethiopia's Tsehay Gemchu.Kasait recorded 3:00.40 to finish fourth.
