KRU Championship enters regional semis on Saturday

The KRU Nationwide league enters the regional semis with Maseno University hosting Citam Kisumu in the Western region’s last four on Saturday.

In another semi, Jaramogi Oginga University welcomes Bungoma RFC in Bondo.

Yesterday, Citam’s team manager Dominic Babu said: “We want to beat Maseno University and qualkify to the finals. Our aim of to reach the KRU Championship.”

When the teams met in the first leg, Maseno won 12-8 while in the second leg, Citam beat Maseno 7-0.

“I’m happy that the players who were out with injuries are back. Our preparations have been smooth so we expect a win,” Babu added. Both teams use Maseno University as their home ground.

In the Rift Valley region, former KRU side Moi University entertains Kabarak University at Kesses in Uasin Gishu County while Eldoret and Nandi will quare out at University of Eldoret grounds.  

In the coast region, Malindi RFC plays Spartans at Malindi High School as Bucanners host Tchnical University of Mombasa at Ukunda.

Stingers and Shamas Foundation will clash in the first Naitobi region semis at the University of Nairobi while Northern Suburbs and Swara will square it out in the second semi at KCB grounds.

In central region, former KRU Championship outfit JKUAT will battle it out with Kiambu RFC at Kenyatta University as Chuka and Embu face off at Chuka University.
