Meanwhile, Kenya Pipeline beat hosts Shooting 3-0(25-15, 25-17, 25-21) in their second match to book an early quarter-final slot with a game to spare in the ongoing African Club Championship in Cairo,  Egypt yesterday.

Following yesterday win, Pipeline who have been drawn in pool ‘C’ now join their  Kenya Prisons counterparts, who qualified for the last eight in Pool ‘D’ on Monday night.

Pipeline will play FAP of Cameroon today to decide who tops Pool ‘C’ in their last preliminary group stage.

FAP have won their first two matches against Rwanda Revenue Authority and Shooting.

Pipeline technical bench retained the same squad that won against Rwanda Revenue Authority in their opening match on Sunday. Those in the line-up included—captain Triza Atuka,  setter Janet Wanja, upcoming Gladys Ekaru, Naomi Too,  Sharon Chepchumba, Esther Wangeci and libero Agrippina Kundu.

The East Africans started brightly dominating the match in all aspects as Atuka and rookie Ekaru impressed with their blocks and attacks to bag the first set 25-15.

The second set was competitive in early stages as the North Africans enjoyed good service,  earning points at will while at the same time disorienting their opponents for a while. Pipeline coach Margaret Indakala then rested Wangeci for Gaudencia Makokha who changed the game with her brilliant service as Pipeline overwhelmed the hosts.

Indakala then rested Wanja for rookie Esther Mutinda as Pipeline took the second set 25-17. Wanja made a return in the third set as Pipeline picked from where they left to eventually bag the set 25-21.
