Kenyan teams in the ongoing African Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt have raised a red flag over the poor treatment they are currently receiving.

Apart from KCB, who arrived in the host nation well ahead of time and made necessary arrangements, Kenya Pipeline and Kenya Prisons are not having it easy in the North African nation.

Kenya Pipeline have been forced to move hotels due to low standards but the move hasn’t helped much with officials crying foul over the quality of food.

"The food is low quality and it is served in low quantities while the internet is very limited. The operation here is just hell on earth," said one of the team officials.

Besides, the official complained they have not had peace in the current hotel as revellers drink and smoke shisha and cigarettes the whole night.

"They don’t care if there are players in the hotel or not," added the official.

On Sunday, Pipeline coach Margaret Indakala on a whatssap group said they had been served with one piece of meat, rice and crisps for lunch hours before their opening match against Rwanda Revenue Authority.

Prisons assistant coach Mavisi Azenga said they have a  lot of problems and the hotel they are staying in is in a bad state. "The food is equally bad but we will survive," added  Azenga.

The complains have prompted the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) chairman Waithaka Kioni to write a protest letter to the confederation of African Volleyball president, Amr El Wani.

“I hope this mail finds you in good health. I wish you a very successful women's club championship. However, the Kenyan teams are not happy with their hotels. The rooms and the food is below standard. Please intervene with the organiser,” read the letter in part.

Meanwhile, Kenya Pipeline and KCB women’s volleyball teams will be seeking their second wins when they take to the courts today.

Pipeline face hosts Shooting in their second match of Pool ‘C’ after seeing off their East African counterparts RRA 3-0( 25-19,25-19,25-15) on Sunday.

While Pipeline will be keen to maintain their  perfect start, the host will be out  to make amends, having gone down to FAP of Cameroon 3-0 (26-24, 25-14, 25-22).

The bankers, who are drawn in Pool ‘B’ won against  DGSP of Congo 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-17)  in their first match and line up against Sporting of Egypt.

Sporting will be eying their first win after succumbing to former champions Carthage 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-21).

Other matches on the card, will see Prisons play GSP of Algeria, Asec (COD) battle  El Shams as Customs of Nigeria take on Canon (COD).
