Boutross Munene is promoting his latest EP, 'Mawingu'.

The 'Story Ilianza' hitmaker began his rap career professionally in 2013 with his music group AD Family and has gone on to release five solo musical projects and three collabos.

Speaking to Word Is, he described himself as one of the pioneers of the Shrap sound in Kenya, a fusion of Sheng’ (Kenyan urban lingo), rap and popular music.

"Thank you all for the support on this venture. We got 100k streams across all platforms on the first week," he said.

Boutross took up rapping at the age of 12. He owns an independent Record Label together with his partner and manager and plays the role of both artiste and Vice President.
