Judy Wanjiku, popularly known as Judy Stevens, is the new gospel kid on the block.
The young lady has released her first song, 'Loco', under the Maliza Umaskini record label. The song explains what God has done for her.
She told Word Is: "My past life experiences inspired me to write the song because I came out victoriously. The message in my song is also to let other people know that God loves them, despite the hardships they're facing."
Judy is a member of Seven Stevens, blood sisters who grew up in church and sang in the choir and were part of praise and worship team.
"We have several songs but haven't recorded yet. Most of us are very engaged and finding time to come together is not easy," she says.
After recording 'Loco', Judy hopes to grow her talent. Her genre is urban gospel.
"Most youth are lost in drugs and other ungodly things. I'm here to impact the lives of these youths who've gone astray and bring as many lost sheep to Christ as I can," she says.
Judy is inspired by gospel singer Evelyne Wanjiru, not only her music but her personality as well.
She advises fellow upcoming artistes to be righteous.
"Looking back at my background and how far I've come, I will say is God. It's not been an easy journey for me," she says.
"I've faced a lot of challenges but what has kept me going is being closer to God. Never run away from the presence of God. Trust in him and believe in him and he'll answer your prayers."
