Japanese actress Misako Konno has been an active promoter of the global partnership for development in her role as the UNDP Goodwill Ambassador since 1998.
She was in Kenya to promote TICAD VI and Goal 9 of the Sustainable Development Goals, which will take place on August 27-28 in Nairobi, the first time the conference is hosted in Africa.
The goals include to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, fix climate change, help the world build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable
industrialisation and foster innovation.
