Barasa said many people have been affected due to the fuel crises and high cost of living, making them desperate.
He said since the handshake between the President and Raila Odinga, there has been no peace between him and his deputy.
“I do not understand this type of handshake. It should unite all people despite their political affiliation, race, clan or gender,” Barasa said.
The MP said the move by Uhuru to avoid greeting Ruto during former President Mwai Kibaki's burial will not shake the Kenya Kwanza brigade.
He said the coalition has instead gained mileage in Mt Kenya.
“Kenya Kwanza is not fighting anybody, its agents are peacefully hunting for votes, Uhuru should be prepared to go home with Raila after August polls,” the MP said.
Barasa recounted a move by the President to de-whip Kenya Kwanza allied MPs from main committees in the National Assembly and replace them.
He spoke on Tuesday in his constituency during the handing over of Sh21 million bursary cheques to students.
MP Mwambu Mabonga disagreed with Uhuru’s sentiments saying the Ukraine war will not affect the country's economy, urging him to move with speed and address the crisis.
“As an MP I feel the pinch of the high cost of living. What happens to the common Kenyan in the village? Some planted their maize without fertilisers, hence they will be affected,” Mwambu said.
He said the President is being misadvised by his close friends who have let him down and asked him to stop imposing Raila Odinga on Kenyans.
“Uhuru was Moi’s project and he failed terribly and the same case will happen with Raila,” Mwambu said.
Mwambu blamed the President for not greeting his deputy saying if Uhuru continues with the same behaviour then he risks dragging the country into chaos.
The MP spoke to the Star in Bungoma town, on Tuesday.
