Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo will launch his re-election bid on Wednesday.

He will become the third governor aspirant to launch his bid after Timothy Bosire (ODM) and Walter Nyambati (UDA).

Nyaribo will be running for a second term after taking over from his predecessor John Nyagarama, who died a year ago.

During a meeting in Nyamira town on Monday, Nyaribo was confident in delivering the seat to serve the people of Nyamira which he said will be a turning point.

“We have done some developments and are calling on Nyamira residents to support us, to do more for the county. This is the time to change their lives,” Nyaribo said.

He will contest against Nyambati, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi (Wiper), Bosire, Former North Mugirango MP Joseph Kiangoi (ANC) Mwancha Okioma (Jubilee) James Kemoni among others.

Nyaribo will contest for the top job with his deputy former West Mugirango legislator James Gesami who decamped from ODM to join Nyaribo in United Progressive Alliance

Others are University don and former Kenya National Innovation Agency boss Reuben Marwanga (Kanu) and James Kemoni (ODM) who are yet to identify their deputies.

Some of the aspirants are reluctant to name their deputies, saying there is still time and they are shopping for the best.

Presidential and governor aspirants have until June to publicly name their running mates.

Among the key areas, Nyaribo will focus on is health, infrastructure and agriculture which he says make a large contribution to the county’s workforce.
