'Magic' barrier has reduced accidents at hotspot Salgaa

Area has been known as a hotspot for accidents for decades

• Numbers reduced to 23 accidents last year and 22 demises, while this year till October, there have been 19 accidents and 16 deaths.

The ‘China Wall’ that was constructed along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway between Salgaa and Kibunja trading centres has curtailed road carnages.

Traffic police records indicate that in 2017, total accidents reported along Salgaa Total area were 50 with total victims being 284.

Out of this number, 138 people succumbed. The numbers reduced to 23 accidents last year and 22 demises, while this year till October, there have been 19 accidents and 16 deaths.

Drivers should contemplate traffic rules especially as we approach the festive season.
