Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has asked Kenyans to stop gossiping about her "good" husband and deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

She noted the DP is a good leader who was chosen by God to lead the country.

Speaking at Kabula Pastoral Centre on Tuesday when he met Bungoma leaders, the second lady defended Gachagua, saying that he is a leader who is dedicated to serving Kenyans.

“When you are around the country, you will hear people talk ill of the deputy president but sincerely speaking, he is a good leader,” she said.

The second lady called on the opposition to give President William Ruto’s administration time to work for Kenyans.

She noted that the Ruto- Rigathi government will deliver its mandate as promised during campaigns.

“Ruto and Rigathi are men of God, even during campaigns, we were praying hard and that is why we won the elections,” she said.

She, however, said that her office is targeting to support the boy child whom she felt had been neglected.

“I’m not in that office as an ornament, I’m there to ensure that I support young people where I can,” she said.

According to her, supporting the boy child will greatly lower cases of teenage pregnancy and drug abuse in the community.

Her sentiments were echoed by Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka who asked Azimio leaders to give President Ruto time to deliver on his promises.

Also present was Bungoma deputy governor Jenipher Mbatiany, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, Bungoma first lady Dr Margret Makelo, church leaders, Bungoma county senior staff and MCAs.
