A man who allegedly visited a woman whom they allegedly had a child with was on Monday charged with attempted rape.
AR was charged before Kibera Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi where he denied the charges.
The court heard that the accused person committed the offence on March 28, 2023, at Uthiru in Dagoreti Sub-County within Nairobi County.
He was charged with the second count of committing an indecent act with an adult contrary to the sexual offence act.
Through his lawyer, the accused told the court that he was not a flight risk and urged the court to release him on a lenient bond term.
He also urged the court to supply him with all the documentary evidence that the prosecutions intended to rely on during the entire trial.
The accused's lawyer told the court that the accused was only in a position to pay a cash bail of Sh50,000.
The court released him on a bond of Sh200,000 with an alternative cash bail of Sh50,000 cash with a surety of the same amount.
The magistrate directed that the case proceeds on June 12 for pre-trials and further directions.
