Report shows that 27% of young people follow the legislator

Langata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o is the top influencer followed by Gen Z and millennials, a new survey by Infotrak shows. 

The report dubbed Media Consumption in an evolving digital world: Millennials and digital natives' consumption habits and Implications for legacy media in East Africa shows that 27 per cent the young people follow the legislator. 

Daniel Ndambuki alias Churchill followed second by 24 per cent, and comedian Eric Omondi became third with 22 per cent. 

Followed by musician Esther Akoth alias Akothee at 21 per cent, blogger Edgar Obare and media personality Betty Kyalo tied at fifth with 19 per cent. 

Comedian Timothy Kimani alias Njugush and Radio presenter Kamene Goro scooped position six with 15 per cent.  

Boys band Sauti Sol, artiste Tanasha Donna, Influencer Diana Bahati and Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai made it to the list with 13 per cent following. 

The report indicated that 44 per cent of millennials and Gen Z spend more than four hours a day on social media, which is more than triple the number they spend on the radio(13 per cent) and TV(12 per cent).
