Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has urged church leaders to partner with government in exposing rogue preachers.

Speaking during the Pentecost Sunday Service at ACK Cathedral in Siakago, Mbeere Diocese in Embu County, the CS said there are many crooks, criminals and thieves that are at large and must be flushed out at all costs.

"I'm asking the Church to partner with the government by exposing the rogue preachers who are hiding behind the Holy scriptures to cause untold suffering to our people," he said.

"While we have arrested Pastor Paul Mackenzie, there are many crooks, criminals and thieves that are at large and must be flushed out at all costs."

The CS said there is no section in the Constitution or Bible that allows rogue preachers to kill or steal from people through warped doctrines and indoctrination.

"To those claiming that the government is violating the constitutional right and freedom of worship, show me which part of the Constitution or the Bible allows these rogue preaching."

Kindiki also said that he will not allow the country to slide back to where it was 20 years ago when Mungiki and other proscribed groups terrorised innocent citizens.

"Any attempts to revive these criminal gangs will be dealt with in the same ruthlessness manner as the fight against banditry," he said.

"In the past, the Mt. Kenya region has suffered deeply from these illegal groupings such as Mungiki. The political leaders who are trying to revive this illegal group will not be allowed or entertained," Kindiki affirmed.
