Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has vowed to help a gospel artist who sought aid to buy a car.

Kapsabet-based Mercy Jerop took to social media to seek the help of the CS  to purchase a  car for her ministry work as a gospel artist.

Jerop's salon business was hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic forcing her to shut down.

Murkomen has pledged to help her set up a cosmetics shop, which he said would help her finance her evangelism activities.

"Mercy was a salonist who like many other entrepreneurs suffered a major setback in 2020 because of Covid. We have discussed how I can support the revival of her business," Murkomem said.

"We have agreed that even though a car may be important for her ministry, it’s better to support a sustainable business that can finance her gospel ministry in the long run."

He went ahead to congratulate Jerop for her service to God and mankind.

When the Star reached out to Jerop on the matter, she was affirmative that Murkomen had agreed to help her set up a cosmetics business.

"He said he will help me set up a cosmetics business. He told me to look for a house for the business," she said.

"He told me to look for a house, once I find it I should inform him and tell him how much money is needed."

Though the two did not agree on a specified sum of money, Jerop said she is set to receive the funds for her business today.
